Summary:
I am pleased with the outcome of the quality of my sculptures. Since I am new with ceramics there was some cracking during the process unfortunately and I didn't not get to make my forth animal. I think the portraits of the other 3 are demonstrated strongly summarizing their interaction with one another. I am aware that while in this representational area it is imperative that I take take caution before certain pieces lead into directions I don't want to go in.
Personal Project Tweaked Proposal
So far we are over half way through our 5 week period. I have reduced my animals to completing 3 instead of 4, not fully realizing the high maintenance quality of the medium. I will have my animals done but I had stated earlier that they may not be all fired again because of the time consumption it takes. I will be completing whatever is left to do for the animals (firing, glazing) after the final critique.
Personal 3 Foci
1. Build upon our last 3 week self developed project, what can I do to enhance my work? Was this time frame plausible for my self developed project?
2. Focus on personalizing my last project with my focus being human portraiture of people I know, How can I connect accurate chain links to animal behavior and humans?
3. Can I create a piece that is an intimate on my personal leaving and connect with the audience just as successfully? How is my work going to evoke that?
Personal Project 2 Progress Critique
How far along are you - 30%, 60%, more?
What have you accomplished, how has your idea developed thus far?
Access what you have visually completed as of today, and make a brief statement about what you hope to achieve - state your goal for the project.
At this point I am about 45% completed with the project give or take I chose to sculpt the last animal. So far I have established all of my sculptures characteristics, poses, and have made the decisions of how they are going to be displayed. I would like to have these fired and glazed (if I chose to do so) on the final day of crit. I have noted that there may be a chance where the pieces may not be fired on the final day but that I would have everything sculpted since the kiln firing process takes a while.

Personal Project 2 Proposal
I was pleased with the feedback that I had received on project 1. I want to work with this direction of making 'disguised' portraits of family members. This exercise has made me more involved with the work I create on a personalized level. This is a rough concept of where I want to specify for the next 5 weeks and is open to other directions. I am looking to make my pieces become a series rather and looking to step further into my concept of the first personal project. I plan to again create 4 larger sculptures for this period of time using ceramic clay.
What body language do I keep in mind to successfully have these sculptures interact with one another indirectly?
