Artist Statement Draft 3

While expanding my knowledge of the wide range of mediums I use,  I am currently focusing my body of work with specific portraiture and attempting to recreate my outlook on relationships I have with people. My work can mainly be described as recreating my own self portrait over and over because of my personalized input on how I create my own idealistic persona of these portraits simply through observing and normal interaction.

I am educating myself on  a wide range of mediums of the three dimensional realm. My process includes mimicking what my object of inspiration is as closely as possible and furthering my process with adding my own style to it. Expanding my craftsmanship into art, I try to compliment my mediums by the formal elements they are made in. The decisions I carefully make to the smallest detail are vital for the viewer to see. I am still developing concepts as I evolve each new medium that creates my sculptures.

Artist Statement Draft 1

In experimenting with different dimensions of fine arts my work has specified into the sculptural area. Currently I am educating myself on  a wide range of mediums of the three dimensional realm. While brainstorming ideas for my work I usually mimic what my object  of inspiration is as closely as possible and furthering my process with adding my own style to it. Typically I use organic references such as plant life, flowers, and textures of the natural world. Recently, my work has been more abstract trying to recreate the medium I use into bold emotions.

I approach my process by being a copycat with works that I have specified to my  interests in order to allow myself to get acquainted with the medium I chose to work in. Expanding my craftsmanship into art, I try to compliment my mediums by the formal elements they are made in. I am currently drawn into the metal medium not only to learn the fascinating techniques of this unique element, but also,  challenging this medium to create expressive forms of emotion that either mimics the object or enhances what I want the viewer to get in return.
